Football is really here. It's been four months since spring football, but finally the Hawkeyes have started fall camp. And now there are real football things to talk abou, with even more to come out today at Iowa's Media Day.
The football program has done a great job engaging fans (and recruits, who are really probably the target of all this stuff) with lots of videos and pictures making there way to hawkeyesports.com and Twitter. It's nice to get a look in to practices that have in the past been hidden behind a locked door.
So over the past three days I've been rounding up all the best Tweets, pics, and vids on the Hawkeyes via Storify.
[View the story "Hawkeyes start fall camp" on Storify ]Hawkeyes start fall camp The Iowa Hawkeyes began fall practice on Friday. Thanks to an ever increasing technological presence from the coach staff and from whoever is running their website, we've got a pretty good look into the first 3 days of practice. Unrelated to fall camp, but still released on Friday, the newest video in the Coach Speak series: Greg Davis.

In addition to the couple of pictures posted on Twitter, Iowa posted an entire
gallery of shots from the first day of practice . The first thing I notice...G.A. Kelvin Bell looks like a scary beast. The football in his hands looks like a toy. Actual football things: Darian Cooper and Brad Rogers both look incredibly built and Keenan Davis looks a little bit leaner (he's been working on improving his speed).
And speaking of pictures...I wouldn't want to be the one taking then from way up on those lifts.

Apparently Akeel Lynch wasn't oohed and ahhed. He declared his re-commitment to Penn State via Twitter. This isn't really a huge surprise as he can probably walk in and be the starting running back with Silas Redd gone. Also, I image these kids are under tremendous pressure from the PSU faithful (fans, coaches, players, alums, etc...) to stay at Penn State.
I will be wearing #22 in Blue&White jersey come Sept. 1st #WeStillAre #PennState #SorryforthewaitAkeel Lynch
Saturday - Day 2 Heading out to practice. Smells like football. #BulliesOfTheB1GBrian Ferentz
I think this is the first team O, but it's hard to tell. Brad Rogers is the running back though.

After practice Ferentz apparently had time to show up at Iowa alum Bruce Rastetter's summer party. It was political gig as you can probably tell from Sarah Palin's presence.

Sunday - Day 3 Sunday was the first day that the players were in pads and the first time they practiced in Kinnick.
(The shadow Greg Davis is casting in the below picture is awesome.)

More shots from practice 3 ... Based on the extremely limited view into practice, it looks like Barkley Hill is running with the twos, and Greg Garmon is with the threes. Speaking of running backs...

Uh, yeah. Strength is not going to be a problem for Brandon Scherff.
