Though the offensive line may be the biggest question mark going into the 2010 season, I think it's actually one position that Iowa is fairly set at for the next few year. Next year, it's likely only Vandervelde will need to be replaced and you could probably pick nearly any of the underclassman to fill that spot. The one possible blow to the line would be if Reiff leaves after his junior year. That would leave the 2012 line looking less veteran.

I would also say Iowa has a pretty good mix of tackles and guards right now. There is potentially some need for depth at center, but Boffeli has been picking that up and Iowa may have addressed it with the latest recruit.

2011 Needs: 3 (1 already committed, need 2 more)

Prospects Offered

Austin Blythe Williamsburg, IA | NR
Blythe committed to Iowa at the beginning of May.

Cyrus Kouandjio Hyattsville, MD | Scout: 5*
Links: Scout, Rivals
Kouandjio is ranked the best offensive tackle in this year's recruiting pool. The good news for Iowa is that he attend DeMatha High School and was teammates with incoming Hawkeye Marcus Coker. The bad news is that everyone else wants Kouandjio too (he has over 30 offers), so it'll be tough competition to land a commitment from him.

Zach Sterup Hastings, NE | NR
Links: Scout, Rivals
Iowa was early to offer Sterup and a slew of copycat recruiting has since followed. Un-shockingly, shortly after Iowa offered, Wisconsin and Minnesota, followed suit. Iowa coaches told Sterup that the copycatting would happen, so I think the Hawkeyes are probably in the lead right now.

Jordan Walsh Glen Ellyn, IL | Scout: 4*
Links: Scout, Rivals
Walsh is one of the highest rated offensive guards and is mostly looking around the Big Ten. Academics and coaching stability are two things he's mentioned being important, so Iowa should have a decent shot.

Anthony Zettel West Branch, MI | Scout: 4*
Links: Scout, Rivals
Iowa is on Zettel's short list, however, he is leaning toward staying in-state and playing for Michigan. He has been a Michigan football fan his whole life.

Audrey Walker Cleveland, OH | Scout: 4*
Links: Scout, Rivals
Walker attend Glenville High School, which usually translate into going to Ohio State. He also has USC and Michigan State high on his list, though is considering some other schools around the Big Ten. Ohio State remains the most likely though.

Nick Martin Indianapolis, IN | NR
Links: Scout, Rivals
Martin's father played football for Kentucky, so that would be the most obvious choice. He also has shown a lot of interest in his home state looking at Indiana.

Tony Springmann Fort Wayne, IN | Scout: 4*
Committed to Notre Dame

Conor Hanratty New Canaan, CT | Scout: 4*
Committed to Notre Dame
