Iowa to play Northern Illinois in Chicago:
The location of the Iowa vs. Northern Illinois game was unofficially released via the Iowa Football Spring Prospectus a few day ago. Well, it is now official. The Hawkeyes will face the Huskies to open the 2012 season at Soldier Field.
The two teams met once before in Chicago back in 2007, which was actually also a season opener on September 1st. Iowa won that game 16-3 thanks mostly to a big day by Albert Young. The game was pretty ugly if I recall correctly, but I think the consensus among Iowa fans was that it was an awesome atmosphere.
I didn't make it to the 2007 game, but have been to Soldier Field for a couple of soccer games. The renovations make it look kind of crazy, but the stadium is very nice. Plus Chicago is a great city that's always fun to visit. I think it's safe to say that Iowa fans will be well represented through Chicago Labor Day weekend in 2012.

To address the Wegher rumors (I've read a shoulder injury) I think I see him in picture 17 from Friday. He's in the background and is dressed. Though, there are also a couple of picture of Rogers getting reps with the 1st team, but none of Wegher. I'm guessing we won't hear anything definite any time soon, unless one of the coordinators addresses it during the April 13th press conference. We should have a better idea about Wegher's condition a week from today with the spring open practice though. For now, I'll keep checking the practice pics.
