Amidst the signing day excitement Iowa picked up another walk-on commitment from in-state quarterback Blake Haluska. Yes, he's the brother of former Iowa Basketball player Adam Haluska. And yes, he's the star of Huck Finn, a Caroll High School American Literature Class Production, playing the role of "Pap."

Best Recruit Highlight Video Ever

Haluska was a dual-threat QB in high school and put up some decent numbers. His senior season he went 150 of 244 for 2,293 yards with 25 TDs and just 7 interceptions. He also added 746 yards on the ground and 11 rushing TDs. Doing so he led his team to the state semi-finals.

He's coming in as a quarterback, but will likely be buried on the depth chart this year. However, I think he could probably end up the backup to Derby after Stanzi and Vandenberg graduate, especially if Iowa shifts its offense to accommodate a dual-threat QB as Coach Ferentz mentioned in his presser on Wednesday (I can't imagine too big of a change though).

Other Walk-ons:
The 2010 class now has a total of 6 walk-ons and 1 gray shirt. Last week, K Mike Meyer, WR John Chelf, and RB Ellis Jordan all committed and DL Cole Heissel and QB Evan McMillan had done so previously. The one gray shirt is a punter from Australia, Jonny Mullings (who also has a really awesome highlight video).
