The Hawkeyes had their first casualties of the off season with safety David Cato and runningback Josh Brown. You really can't blame either for deciding to transfer as they were both stuck on the wrong end of the depth chart for the foreseeable future.

After redshirting this year, Brown would have entered his RS freshman year as far down the depth chart as one could be...seriously probably around 8th or 9th. He could have switched to another position as he came in listed as an athlete, but I'm not really sure where. Anyway, good luck to Josh.

Cato is a much bigger loss, but he has been stuck behind Sash and wasn't going to see a whole lot of playing time anytime soon. He did see action in 12 games this year though and tallied 6 tackles including one TFL.
