Paul Rust and Hayden Panettiere in their upcoming movie I Love You Beth Cooper.

It’s none other than Paul Rust! Okay…so you are probably wondering, who the heck is Paul Rust and what does he have to do with Iowa Football. I admit, this post is slightly (okay very) off topic, but I just felt compelled to post it and honestly there isn't much football news right now. I was watching TV last night and a commercial comes on for this new Hayden Panettiere movie, I Love You Beth Cooper. (Hey, Hayden Panettiere was in Remember the Titans, so that's kind of football related. Also, the picture on the right is from the movie is well) Well yeah, the movie looks pretty bad, but it’s based off a popular book by the same title and is about a nerdy dude who proclaims his love for the popular girl and so on and so on. What caught my eye about this movie was (no, not Hayden Panettiere) the nerdy dude…he looked so familiar. So I looked him up on IMDB and figured it out . It's Paul Rust, my crazy RA from my freshman year at Iowa in 2002 (so I associate him with the best football season I can remember).

Paul, an avid Herky the Hawk fan, attended the University of Iowa from 2000 to 2004. While attending Iowa he was a writer/performer for No Shame Theatre and a member of the rock opera band My Business Failed in Three Weeks. The underappreciated garage band I was in during highschool, Link's Final Conquest, once opened for MBF3W which probably ruined Paul's career as a musician. But he has gone on to bigger and better things and has probably long forgot about his RA days at Iowa.

So, good luck to Paul and maybe I'll catch your movie someday when it's on Starz! On Demand. And, my next post will be Iowa Football related, so don't worry.
